Once you have routed all the airwies to your satisfaction run a DRC command (design rule check) this will point out any physical errors eg track too close to board edge that sort of thing. To route just click on an airwire, decide its track width and use your mouse to decide where it will run. then run an ERC command (electrical rule check this should pick if have missed any airwires ( of course if you got your netlist wrong it wont pick that for you ) These connect each component pin to it's respective net and therefore to all other component pins on that net. The program produces airwires as you progress through the netlist Then do the signal paths then I do GND last as I usually make that a filled plane On the netlist starting with the power rails eg : V+, V. I usually start with a board outline the size I wish to work to then off to one side I will add all the components taken from the schematic so the first resistor you pick will be R1 and so on. Give each net a name eg : GND then any part's pin that needs to connect to GND gets added to its list eg U1/3 or Q3/1, you just type them in one after another and highlight as you go on the schematic so you don't miss any. Netlist- basically what is connected to what as per the schematic. You only have to place the vias/pads/holes per hand (which goes very fast if you use the same grid as the person who did the layout.took me only a few minutes.).ДЄlso works with double sided layouts and its easy to replace bare jumper wires in single sided layouts with traces on the top layer.Д«ut as I said, I never had any boards made that way. If you import a b/w picture in diptrace (in the PCB layout editor) and place it onto a signal plane layer, then everything that is black in the picture becomes copper in the pcb. You only need the pictures you normally use to etch your own pcbs. No, I didn't place any components in the example above and I don't need a schematic or netlist for it. Is this what you mean? Importing pictures does not work the same way in all layout programs. I haven't tried to order a pcb with such a file yet, but I don't see why it shouldn't work.probably should order without E-Test because there is no standard netlist in the gerber that way. The trick is to import a b/w picture file into the signal plane layer(s), get it into the right size and then place the vias/pads manually. but I guess it could be quite useful for other designs. It was just the first layout I found after having the idea. I have no intentions to actually do this with yusynth boards as they are single sided, a joy to etch on your own and available to buy online.
